More than one dish is preferred in a single meal because the body needs different kinds of nutrients to stay healthy. No single food item can provide all the nutrients required by the body.
For example, rice or wheat provides carbohydrates for energy, pulses provide proteins for growth and repair of tissues, vegetables and fruits provide vitamins and minerals, and some foods provide fats that give additional energy.
By eating a variety of dishes in one meal, we can obtain a balanced diet, which is necessary for proper growth, strong immunity, and overall good health. Therefore, having multiple dishes in a meal helps ensure that the body receives all the essential nutrients it needs.
