What is dry ice?

Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide (CO₂) at approximately −78.5°C.

• Called "dry" because it sublimates directly from solid to gas no liquid state at normal pressure.

Uses:

• Preserving food and biological samples during transport
• Theatrical fog/smoke effects
• Cooling in pharmaceutical industries
• Handle with care: causes frostbite on skin contact.
