The stomach is a muscular, J-shaped organ that stores food, mixes it with digestive juices, and sends it to the small intestine.

Parts of the stomach:

1. Cardia – where food enters from the esophagus.
2. Fundus – upper dome-shaped part.
3. Body – main large part where mixing and digestion occur.
4. Pyloric part – lower part that pushes food toward the intestine.
5. Pylorus – valve-like end that controls food movement into the duodenum.

Borders:

• Lesser curvature – short inner border.
• Greater curvature – long outer border.

Main function: stores, churns, and partially digests food into chyme.
