• Lips – outer opening of the mouth
• Gingiva / gums – tissue around the teeth
• Hard palate – front bony roof of the mouth
• Soft palate – soft back part of the mouth roof
• Uvula – small hanging structure at the back of the mouth
• Palatine tonsil – lymph tissue at the side of the throat
• Tongue – muscular organ for taste, speech, and swallowing
• Papillae of tongue – small projections on the tongue surface
• Incisor – front cutting teeth
• Canine – pointed tearing teeth
• Premolar – teeth used for crushing food
• Molars – back teeth used for grinding food
