What is the meaning of the term untouchability?

Ans: In our country since ancient times, society was divided into four castes namely Brahmanas, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras. The lower caste people or Shudras were treated badly by the upper caste people and were given very low status. These people were treated as untouchables. This was the direct result of the caste system.
