How is the rotation of the earth responsible for causing day & night?

The earth rotates on its axis from west to East daily & completes it in 24 hours. The notation of the earth sees that one half of it faces the sun, i.e., the half facing the sun causes day &the other half remaining in darkness causes night. The day & night is a continuous phenomenon’s because of the notation.
