How is resistivity related to resistance?

Answer

Resistivity and resistance are related through the euation: R = ρL/A

This shows that resistance is directly proportional to both resistivity and length, but inversely proportional to cross-sectional area. If you double the length of a wire, you double its resistance. If you double its cross-sectional area, you halve its resistance. The resistivity (ρ) acts as the proportionality constant linking these uantities.
