Answer
- Chlorophyll is the green pigment present in the leaves. These are mainly located in chloroplast of the plant Chlorophyll plays a major role in photosynthesis. It helps in the conversion of absorbed light energy into chemical energy. This conversion helps in the preparation of food in plants.
- (i) Glucose is the simple food which is prepared first in the process of photosynthesis. Glucose and oxygen are the final products of photosynthesis.
(ii) Starch is the food that gets stored in plant leaves. Starch is a polymeric carbohydrate consisting of a large number of glucose units linked by glycosidic bonds. It acts as stored energy in plants.
