Q

Write a paragraph in 120-150 words on the topic ‘All That Glitters Is Not Gold’.

A

It is an old saying that appearances are often deceptive. We should not judge a person or a thing by appearance only. Appearance is a mere way to present oneself attractive in front of others. It is a superficial way of looking at a person or an object. But when you examine things from close quarters, they tend to look different and even disappointing. Every shining metal is not pure gold. It is gold if the inner metal is also gold. Similarly, every well dressed man is not a gentleman. All saffron clad men are not saints. The point here is: we should try to find out the exact nature of things without getting tempted by outward show. External beauty only mislead one’s opinion. We should try to judge a person or a thing by their deeds and inner worth and not by one’s words or external beauty. Education and knowledge can improve our awareness. It will help us to understand a person or a particular thing better.
