Write a note on the life in the Amazon basin.

Ans. The river Amazon flows in the area of equatorial region. Because of its location the life in equatorial region is according to the climate and relief here. The life in the Amazon basin can be defined in the following heads:

1. Climate: Because of the equatorial climatic conditions the temperature and the rainfall is higher in this region.
2. Rain forests: The type of vegetation found here is called as the equatorial rain forests. Thick and dense forests are often seen this forest region.
3. Species:The species which are found here are very uneven like the Piranhas can be seen here only.
4. People and the rainforests: People here are totally mixed with the climatic and conditions prevail here. They made their house with slanting roof which is called as ‘maloca’ to save their houses from the heavy rain.
