Why the river Plains are thickly populated?

Ans. The river plains are thickly populated due to following reasons:

1. The plains are very fertile due to the presence of alluvial and thus proved to be very useful for agriculture.
2. Construction of transport network is easy.
3. They are suitable for human habitation.
4. More flat land is available for the building, houses and cultivation.
