Why did Ashoka want to spread dhamma?

A

Ans.  There were number of problems that troubled him. People in the empire followed. People followed different religions; due to this they faced many conflicts among them. Animals were sacrificed. Slaves and servants were ill-treated. Families quarreled with their neighbors. So he considered that it was his duty to solve all these problems.
