Name the two types of mixtures.

Mixtures are classified into two main types:

1. Homogeneous mixtures – These mixtures have a uniform composition throughout. The different components cannot be distinguished easily. For example, salt dissolved in water.
2. Heterogeneous mixtures – These mixtures do not have a uniform composition, and their components can be seen separately. For example, sand in water or oil in water.
