How do plants take in nitrogen?

Ans. Nitrogen is the most plentiful gas in the atmosphere. Plants need it for their survival. However they cannot take it directly from the atmosphere. There are bacteria in the soil and roots of some plants that take it from atmosphere and convert it for plant use.
