Write about Rokeya Sakhawat and her ‘Ladyland’

Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain was born into a rich family. Though she knew to read and write Urdu, she was not allowed to learn English and Bangla. In those days it was a supertitious belief that learning Enlish would expose girls to new ideas. But she managed to learn English with the help of her elder brother. She wrote a wonderful story titled Sultana’s Dream in 1905.

According to this story, a woman character whose nae is Sultan who reaches a place called ladyland . Lady land is a place where women had full freedom to study, work, and create inventons like controlling rain from the clouds and flying air cars. In this ladyland the men had been sent into seclusion since they were defeated by the brain-power of women. This is how the story Suldana’s Dream ends.
