What is the role of opposition?

The opposition plays a very important role in a democracy. Members of the opposition constantly keep a close watch on the activities of the ruling party. They question the government’s decisions, point out mistakes, and raise issues that affect the public. If any member of the ruling party does not perform properly or acts against public interest, the opposition raises objections both inside the Legislative Assembly and outside in public forums. This helps in maintaining transparency and accountability in governance.
