The Fundamental Duties were inserted in Constitution by 42nd Amendment in 1976:
To remind its citizens, though they enjoy basic fundamental rights but they are
supposed to observe certain basic norms of democratic conducts and behavior.
A set of ten fundamental duties of citizens have been enumerated by the
amendment.
