What are Mid-term Elections?

Mid-Term Elections refer to elections held before the expiry of the term of Lok Sabha or
State Legislative Assembly due to some reasons or the other or if Lok Sabha or state
Legislative Assemblies are dissolved by the President or Governor before expiry of the
terms of Lok Sabha or Legislative Assemblies.
